MEDIEVAL CITY IN THE WORLD.
ReplyDeleteSiena is a city in Touscany, Italy. It is the capital of providence of Siena. Sienna weather is extremely strong. It has several summers and intense winter but in april and may it rains.
Why you have to know about Siena?
I will give you seven logical reasons to know about the world’s best city:
1. This city was declared a world heritage site. It preserves medieval style and gothic architecture.
2. Touristic attractions in Siena have history drawn on every visitor step.
3. “La plaza del campo” is a majestic piece of architecture. There are many paintworks made by famous dyers.
4. In “La plaza del campo” two times per year you are the viewer of horse races where each horse represents 1 of 17 city districts.
5. “Palacio Salimbeli” has one of the oldest bank in the world.
6. “La academia Musicale Chigiana is located in “Palazzo Chigi en via di citta”. It is a música conservatory in Siena.
7. You can find many sights with different architecture which we cannot see daily.
The most important thing in Siena is the fact that the history behind their walls. It hasn’t removed. It remains intact: in his paintings, architecture, music and culture.
What about Siena history?
Siena according to legend was founded by Ascanio and Senio. They were Remo sons. Then the Romans installed a militar station called Senia. After years this station became commercial place. The clergy, Franks and Lombards wanted to take Siena but Florence was the winner because after wars in XIV century Siena lost many of them.
A lot of painters were born there for this reason the city was decorated by them. In 1348 a plague murdered 3/5 of population. Between XIV and XIX centuries Siena became part of Touscany region. Siena is famous because her economic dominion, finances, tourism and artistic heritage help to preserve traditions and bring in visitors.
There are many places to visit in Siena but I have to present the most beautiful site. It is a view of magnificent nature.
Chianti valley is located in Siena. It is considered as Touscany lung and it is recognized for their goodly wines. In each town there are wineries castles and farms and their production has the famous brand: Gallo Negro di Chianti. The valley offers scenical view with hills covered with vines, magnificent forests of chestnut trees, pinturesque medieval places. Siena is dominated by antique traditions and gastronomy particularly in Chianti valley.
Note:
Colombia has a lot of cities better than Siena but something important to clarify is that in Colombia don’t preserve the traditions specially in architecture. Siena still saves in the streets whole history. To me Colombia should preserves the architectural art.

Do you want to live in another Century?
ReplyDeleteIt's a hard thing to try to choose just one city in the world and tag it as the best in the world. There are many reasons for having the count in discussions like this one and having in mind my own judgment and so many other opinions, I should tell you to that Bruges is the best city in the world. I'll tell why.
Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. The historic city center is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO having most of its medieval architecture intact.
It has a big list of festivals, famous buildings, and a charming history.
The first thing you will notice if you visit Bruges is that it looks like a fairy tales' land, this city is wonderful, the ancient canals and the typical local houses giving an air of magic will excite every sense of you. Every corner amazes and generates peace. The network of canals gives to the city a romantic touch that you will appreciate a lot. Maybe the most romantic canal is the Groenerei or "Green Canal" because is lined with trees and elegant mansions from the 17th century.
There are said to be more bars in Bruges than nights of the year so if you want to spend a good time drinking some of the best Belgian beers or enjoying the local music you should go to the downtown and visit its more emblematic bars and pubs. I suggest visiting "De Republiek".
But also, Belgium is famous for Chocolate and Bruges has so many excellent chocolate factories and shops where you will find some of Bruges' best truffles and many other fabulous confections and as a curious fact, Bruges has a museum dedicated to this brown stuff. Hilarious, right?
In this city food is a considerable business, they take food seriously here. You can visit extraordinary restaurants and cafés, most of them offer an amazing atmosphere at any time.
And we can't forget the art and ancient architecture lovers, you can have visual pleasure too because Bruges has fantastic art museums and wonderful edifications for all over the city, some examples are the Heilig-Bloedbasiliek or "Basilica of the Holy Blood" is home to the vial said to contain the blood of Jesus and each year since at least the 1300s, the vial has been taken in procession around the city, an event that has now become a monument of costume theatre but also, you can visit the Burg offering a feast of Gothic architecture a magical place where you will find stunning architecture of a wonderful time, you have to go for taking some pictures.
Well, I can give you many other facts about this city but I would be writing for years. There are many reasons for visit Belgium and much more for visit Bruges, there are not good excuses for avoiding to be in this magical land of dreams.

CHIQUINQUIRÁ, MORE THAN A RELIGIOUS PLACE.
ReplyDeleteChiquinquirá is located in west of the department of Boyaca. It is the fourth city most populated after Sogamoso, Duitama and Tunja. Chiquinquirá is knew as the religious capital of Colombia. But is more than a big church, the little city have some places that I bet it worth it know it.
The most famous place is the Basilica de Nuestra Señora Del Rosario de Chiquinquirá, where is the picture of the virgin. Near the basilica is the church of “La Renovación”, where it was "renewed" the picture of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá. There became famous when a woman named Maria Ramos saw that old paint gleams out and became what it is today.
But behind all those religious things there are more, we get the outlook of “Los Currucuyes”. This beautiful place, extends to 3,050 meters above sea level, is a nature reserve that the farmers preserve and protect jealously, because there grows the bayberry, frailejones, tagua (wooden) the yuco, chusque, higuerón or rascal, among more than 53 native species.
Then, is the Park Juan Pablo Segundo, it was very popular because the Pope baptized in homage to the July 3, 1986 celebrated a Mass in the city. In this public space 22 has the temple from which the pontiff celebrated the Eucharist with the fourth centenary of the miracle of the renewal of the painting of the Virgen Del Rosario commemorated preserved.
The old railway station of Chiquinquirá is home to the Palace of Culture Romulo Rozo, named in homage to the artist born in this town and, among other works, produced sculptures of characters from the Muisca mythology as Bachué and Bochica. The building, which houses some of the creations of Rozo, was designed by the Belgian architect Joseph Martens and was built in 1926.
We celebrate, the contest of “Guitarra de plata campesina” its aim is to support, promote and evaluate the performers, composers and arrangers of guascarrilero empirical musical genre that arise throughout the region Cundi-boyacense plateau and surrounding areas. Also a Horse Show and the Aguinaldo Chiquinquireño. Our products are the “Tagua” and delicious candies.
Finally, I get the important persons like the actor Julio Medina, the poet Julio Florez, the sculptor and artist Rómulo Rozo and the writer Pio Alberto Ferro Peña. Come and know Chiquinquirá, is a very peaceful place and has more than you imagine.
I am late nd am sorry but I completely forgot to upload it.

If you are feeling tired of cars noise, Venice is the most appropriate city at all, because it is a floating city so there are not cars. One the most used vehicle here is the Vaporetto, it is like a bus, but if you want to be the most romantic person and give something special to your couple, the gondola is the best transport, because the driver will sing for you the most beautiful Italian song and give you the most amazing trip around the city. Also if you are a pizza or pasta addict, in Venice you will find the most delicious combination of flavors. But if you want to know more about Venice, this city has one of the most interesting history in the world.
If you are a fanatic of the architecture you will love Venice because it has one of the most beautiful architectures in all Italy and there are a lot of places you can visit for example the Basilica de San Marcos that was considered the most beautiful church in all Europe by Napoleon. Besides there are 446 bridges that link the small islands. And if you are a person who like to party every time the carnival of Venice is one of the most important carnivals in the world, you will always have something to do and you will not get bored because every time and everywhere you will have cultural events at your “disposal”. On other hand if you are a fan of classical music, going to Venice will be the most exciting experience of your life because Antonio Vivaldi was born here and also here in Venice there is one of the most famous Opera’s coliseum in the world so you can enjoy the nicest music and be part of the biggest events of the whole city. So come to the Italian city and learn about a scenario of fairy tales, music, art, and a lot of traditions and the last thing you should know and you cannot forget is that Venice has been declared a world heritage site.
there is a city that looks like a real fairy tale. is a city where you can see the past in its architecture and the crazy future in its sculpture; Prague is your destination.this city has a lot of differents and interesting things on everywhere. So I am going to start talking about the amazing 14th century Charles Bridge that in my opinion is one of the most important things of this wonderful city, because it connects the two parts of this capital and show us the Vltava river like other part of the city.
ReplyDeleteOn one side of the river a huge "golem" sees the bridge and the water that are in front of it everytime. Many people around the world consider the Prague Castle like the largest castle of the world, and maybe it is true, because inside it, you find other one, yes other castle, thats awsome!, and the Golden Lane it's too, because really in that place, you'll never walk alone.
Who sais that old things are boring, probably someone who doesn't know the old city; there you can walk around beautiful streets, where if you are lost, you are charmed too. When people find the Jewish quarter of Prague, they have the oportunity to enjoy all the things that the largest quarter and best preserved one in Europe can offer to them. when you get to the Old Town Square, you are ready to contemplate the Church of Our Lady Týn and Town Hall Tower, where the famous astronomical clock listens to the bells of death, like any other tourist. The views from the top of the bell tower is something that you cannot miss; you feel that all the city is yours, and that is an amazing experience.
But this is not only an old city. There is something else waiting for you. For example the Dancing House by Frank Gehry, a very crazy building, as crazy as Prague's sculptures that you can find on streets, like a street museum, so you don't need any money to enjoy them. Two men peeing on the map of Czech Republic, giant babies in a park or a hanging man about to fall of a building could be a great reason to visite these places.
so, the Kafka land is wating to show you these and more things, that Prague has for you.
